Jason Buckel


In over 15 years of practice, Jason has served as trial counsel in numerous complex cases, including some of the largest recent jury verdicts in Western Maryland.

Jason has served as lead trial counsel in multiple cases resulting in six-figure verdicts in wrongful death, personal injury, business torts, property damage and construction litigation trials and arbitrations, frequently resulting in significant jury awards.

Jason brings a unique perspective to litigation matters throughout Western Maryland, having spent six years as an attorney with large national law firms where he defended complex product liability and toxic tort matters, handled environmental litigation, and was involved in numerous multi- million dollar business tort cases and Civil False Claims Act Investigations.

His practice focuses on the litigation of commercial and business disputes; trial and settlement of wrongful death and serious personal injury matters; construction litigation on behalf of both builders and developers and property owners; and the litigation of substantial real property and zoning disputes.

A graduate of George Mason University and the University of Maryland School of Law (with honors), Mr. Buckel practices throughout the State and Federal courts of Maryland as well as appearing pro hac vice in West Virginia and the District of Columbia as necessary. He is an experienced appellate practitioner who regularly appears before the Court of Special Appeals and has argued before Maryland’s Court of Appeals, the State’s highest court.
Jason won a seat in the Maryland House of Delegates in the Fall of 2013, representing Allegany County in District 1-B. He is a member of the Ways and Means Committee, the Election Law Sub-Committee, and the Finance Resources Sub-Committee.
